H1Z1 has sold a million copies on Steam

I think you’ll agree with me that Daybreak could really use some good news right about now, and today, it’s got some. Daybreak President John Smedley tweeted last night that the company has sold a million copies of zombie survival sandbox H1Z1 on the Steam platform, earning grats from no less than Crowfall’s Raph Koster.

Smed let loose with a few other nuggets of interest: He rejected the assertion that “hackers reign” over the game (“Untrue, but thanks,” he wrote); he told followers that “roughly 30% of the playerbase is playing BR [battle royale]”; and he confirmed that H1Z1 is headed for the PS4. Grouping is still on the way, Aussie servers are now open, and another 5000 cheaters have been banned. All in all, it’s a good time to be an H1Z1 player… and maybe a bad time to be a zombie.
